The Paradiso Ibiza Art Hotel opened in 2018 in Ibiza, in Sant Josep de sa Talaia, in the bay of San Antonio, on the northwest coast of the Balearic Island. The hotel is operated by the Concept Hotel group which already owns several colorfully decorated hotels on the island such as the Cubanito Ibiza Suites and the Tropicana Ibiza Suites. Designed by Spanish studio Ilmiodesign, the completely renovated existing building blends architecture and extravagant appearance. The crisp white facade, simple, rounded lines, and colorful neon lighting are reminiscent of the art deco architecture of Miami Beach’s legendary Ocean Drive. Inside, tart and pastel hues, and scalloped details echos the Memphis design movement of the 1980s.

The hotel has 60 rooms decorated in pink, yellow or green depending on which floor they are located. The rooms vary in size, some offer living and kitchen areas with furniture in contrasting colors, and others have access to sunny balconies. The artists’ works in the rooms are affiliated with the hotel’s art program organized by artist Iñaki Domingo, and photographer and filmmaker Diana Kunst. We can thus find as a headboard, illustrations of the Japanese Yoko Honda or the Parisian Marylou Faure. Smeg refrigerators and Marshall speakers lend a vintage feel. The Zero suite, fully transparent glazed and located in the middle of the hotel lobby, is accessible free of charge and can be transformed into a workshop. Each month this room hosts a different artist who comes to perform a micro-residency, offering unique moments of creation.

The lobby is a multifunctional space, with a library area filled with contemporary art books, a cafe bar, and an art gallery. Outside there is a relaxation area with a tropical garden, a circular bar, and two pools in pale pink and purple tones positioned on either side. There are also cabanas and lounge chairs, a pool table, and cafe seating shaded by the Mediterranean sun.

All the spaces at the Paradiso hotel are perfect for the Instagram age.
