The Bower is located on Bangalow Road on the north coast of New South Wales.
The Bower concept began with a stay at The Bowery hotel during a trip to New York City. Back in Australia in their hometown Byron, Taliah and Sein Lowry transformed an old 1970s roadside motel into a the laidback barefoot luxury hotel.
Opened in 2017, The Bower is the result of a creative team of eight people (architects, designers, landscape stylists …) who collaborated together to create a unique hotel that combines the cool and urban Manhattan style and Byron’s seaside laid-back lifestyle. The Bower was sold in 2020 to a Gold Coast-based investor.
The hotel has 28 rooms in total, including 16 suites and the rest in 4 independent structures spread over the domain in order to be able to enjoy several experiences. The Bower Suites, each unique, are divided into Queen, Queen Superior, King, and King Deluxe with baths, feature interiors designed with attention to detail, in neutral tones, paired with vintage and contemporary curated pieces of furniture, unique works of art, potted plants, high-quality bedding and plush linens. Each room has an en-suite bathroom equipped with Le Labo and Kevin Murphy toiletries.
The other structures include The Barn, a private 1-bedroom oasis, The Studios, two studios with 1-bedroom each, The Cottage, a century-old 5-bedroom country house, and The House, a 4-bedroom house upstairs.
Regarding the catering, breakfast baskets, snacks and tasting platters are available on request. The estate is surrounded by lush tropical vegetation including palm trees and fruit trees. The hotel has a round swimming pool and comfortable sunbeds.
The Bower is a destination itself, the perfect perfect base for a Byron getaway.
