The Slow: Hotel in Bali

In Bali, The Slow is an immersive experience that involves your eyes, your ears, and your tastebuds.

A relaxed and luxurious experience

Located on the main street of the small village of Canggu in Bali, among the trendy stores and cafes, 300 meters from the surfers’ beach spot, The Slow offers a unique hotel alternative on the Indonesian island.

The Slow is the idea of designer George Gorrow (creator of the streetwear label Ksubi) and his wife, Cisco Tschurtschenthaler (model), the owners of Australian origin.

The hotel was designed in collaboration with local architect Rieky Sunur of Gfab Architects. The Slow features an architecture with a “tropical brutalist” aesthetic. The design combines modern and traditional elements such as local stone, indigenous wood, and raw concrete. The interiors are eclectic, minimalist and warm. The majority of the furniture, objects, and textiles made by local artisans are combined with industrial pieces, custom furniture, and artwork made by the Friends of Gorrow.

The Slow consists of 12 suites divided into two categories: Pool Suite and Grand Suite. The suites are fitted with large bay windows, in soft colors, with bamboo chairs, wooden coffee tables, and comfortable sofas. There are no televisions to encourage guests to disconnect. The bathrooms are equipped with rain showers and local organic toiletries. The 4 suites on the ground floor have a private deep pool.

On the first floor, the Eat & Drink restaurant, open all day long, offers a seasonal cuisine based on produce from the owners’ farm. The a la carte breakfast is composed of fresh fruits and homemade granola… There is also a bar-art gallery called room 13, and a concept store called room 14. On the top floor, there is a rooftop terrace to admire the sunsets.
