Opened in 2017, The Nobis hotel is located in the heart of Copenhagen’s city center, within walking distance of Tivoli and the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek Museum.

The Nobis is owned by the independent Swedish hotel group Nobis Hospitality Group founded by the Italian-Swedish Alessandro Catenacci.

The original historic building was designed in 1903 for an insurance company and was later home to the Royal Danish Academy of Music. The building was renovated and completely transformed by Swedish architect Gert Wingårdh of the Wingårds design studio. The site’s original architecture and certain aspects have been preserved, with the addition of noble and modern materials such as marble, stone, wood, and glass, in sober undertones. For example, the new marble staircase, which has been added as an extension of the original, is now highlighted by a designer chandelier.

The hotel has 75 rooms in six different categories ranging from 20 to 91 m2. They are all very different and decorated in a timeless contemporary Scandinavian style with soothing shades of blue and green on the walls. The minimalist rooms are equipped with oak parquet flooring, high windows painted white, Swedish and Danish design and vintage furniture, black-framed four-poster beds, Wegner’s CH20 elbow chairs, Le Corbusier’s Lampe de Marseille, and Continental Easy Chair armchairs. The bathrooms are upholstered in Carrara marble and furnished with Bal d’Afrique products by Byredo.

The Noi restaurant on the hotel’s ground floor serves inspiring cuisine with influences from all over Europe. The hotel also hosts a bar and a lounge. The spa in the basement is entirely carved out of marble and has a hot stone hammam, a sauna, and a cold bath.
