MeeHotel: Hotel in Shenzhen
MeeHotel is the ultimate city escape that transports travelers to a bamboo filled sanctuary of comfort and opulence.
A getaway in a “bamboo forest”
MeeHotel is an urban resort hotel located in the city of Shenzhen, China, which aims to offer travelers a break from this fast-paced city.
The hotel was designed by the Panorama Design Group, based in Hong Kong, for the PuroMe Hotel Group. Inspired by the place’s name “Bamboo Forest”, the hotel, which opened in 2020, focuses on nature, with bamboo as its main material. Panorama used the expertise of a traditional bamboo weaver to create the full-height bamboo screens that shroud the lobby and reception area. This gives the space a sophisticated lighting and shadow effect on the sloping ceiling and the main wall finished in natural diatomaceous clay. The interiors combine soothing natural tones, organic shapes, wood, stone, and marble elements.
On the upper floors, bamboo also adorns the double-height corridors, giving guests the feeling of walking through an abstract bamboo forest before reaching their rooms.
In the rooms, bamboo and rattan have been applied to all the headboards in the same pattern as those in the hall but in varying widths and thicknesses. Staged by hidden lights, the decor offers a peaceful and warm environment.
On the top floor, the Sky Café is a Zen lounge area housed in a bamboo structure with a cathedral ceiling, evoking a calming, forest-like cocoon. The skylight in the ceiling allows natural light to illuminate the lounge during the day, while round LED lights suspended from the ceiling provide a poetic experience at night.
MeeHotel is a hotel space where you can enjoy the beauty of traditional craftsmanship in a relaxing environment.
