Blique by Nobis: Hotel in Stockholm

Blique by Nobis is a contemporary project where architecture and design coexist with the art of social interaction.

A design hotel in a former warehouse

Opened in 2019, the Blique by Nobis hotel is located in the emerging Hagastaden district in central Stockholm.

The hotel is housed in a former 1930s warehouse originally designed for Philips by the famous Swedish architect Sigurd Lewerentz. The Nobis Group has once again collaborated with architect Gert Wingårdh to redesign this landmark building and create a contemporary hotel inspired by its surrounding neighborhood. The result is a place that respects its own history but with an eye to the future. The overall architectural foundation has remained the same, combined with the use of raw concrete, steel pipes, and exposed metal. Timeless natural materials such as leather and oak wood, as well as textures such as velvet and wool, have been layered across this industrial core to create interiors that are urban, warm, and welcoming.

The hotel has 249 minimalist rooms (including 58 studios), ranging from 10 to 66 sqm. In a Nordic style, with a palette of soothing grey-black and brown, each room features Bed Factory beds, open tubular steel storage, and Scandinavian furniture largely by Carl Hansen & Sön or custom-made. The bathrooms are clad in white terazzo speckled with amber and black faucets, and furnished with the Swedish brand Byredo.

The emphasis was placed on common areas where people can meet and socialize in a lively and inspiring atmosphere. A food truck, the Boketto restaurant, the Origo bar, and the Arc bar on the roof overlooking the city, serve European and Asian dishes using local produce from the vegetable garden. The hotel has a spa, a gym, and an art gallery with temporary exhibitions.
