A rare design find in the Cyclades

On the Greek island of Mykonos, perched on the cliff above Kalafatis Beach, The Wild hotel is a refuge combining traditional architecture and design decoration.

The Wild, owned by the Interni Group, was designed by Alexandros and Filippos Varveris and Sofia and Karavas, who are also the project’s co-owners and architects.

The Wild was born out of the reconstruction and expansion of the old accommodation complex, located in the most untouched, preserved and wildest part of the island. The inspiration for its name “The Wild” was inspired by this unique location. The complex, developed over five levels, extends into an amphitheater following the geological features of the natural terrain. The reception and public spaces are located on the lowest level. The characteristics of the traditional Cyclades architecture have been carefully preserved.

The hotel offers 35 suites and 5 villas with a private swimming pool. The interiors are designed in a contemporary decor with crisp colors, raw wood, marble, waxed concrete, high-end furniture, and natural-fibered linen sheets. The rooms are equipped with large bay windows that open out onto a breathtaking view. The bathrooms have white concrete walls and handmade beige terrazzo floors.

The Taverna restaurant reinterprets the best of traditional Greek cuisine with local products. The hotel features an infinity pool overlooking the Aegean Sea. Below, guests can enjoy access to a private beach in a cove with crystal clear water. The wellness area includes a spa and a gym. The hotel also operates a beach club called Flelia located at the other end of the island that recaptures the essence of the French Riviera in the sixties.

The Wild is a retreat where relaxation takes on a new definition.
