A new idea of Scandinavian luxury

Hotel Sanders is located in the historic heart of Copenhagen’s cultural district, hidden behind the Royal Danish Theatre in a quiet street.

The hotel is the result of a mass restoration of a former hotel. Owner Alexander Kølpin, a former dancer from the Royal Danish Ballet, collaborated with the London design studio Lind + Almond to create a hotel that is both luxurious and simple.

In fact, the name of the hotel comes from Alexander… Alex… Sanders.

It’s a cozy place that combines several influences, starting with a bit of modern Danish to British colonial-style. The Sanders hotel is designed as a Danish house, owned by one who has traveled around the world. The finishes are top of the range; wood fireplace, full bookcases, leather safari chairs, rattan furniture, glass chandeliers, jute wallpaper, velvet curtains, aged wood, candles and golden shades. In the hallways, you will find beautiful photographs of ballet dancers hanging on the walls.

The 54 rooms, each singular in their own style and design, have natural wood floors, vintage furniture, soft warm colors, and large comfortable beds. The slightly industrial-looking bathrooms are equipped with Ortigia toiletries.

Breakfast is served à la carte in the Sanders Kitchen restaurant which is a bistro-style space adorned with white subway tiles. The glamorous retro-style Tata Bar, with red velvet armchairs and dim lighting, serves casual drinks that can be enjoyed in the courtyard and lounge area with a fireplace. On the top floor you will find The Conservatory, a rooftop veranda with a tropical flair. Bicycles are also made available to guests for visiting the city.
