A rustic and culinary sanctuary

Located in the remotest part of San Jose del Cabo, in Las Animas Bajas, Acre Baja is an area designed to offer travelers a unique alternative vacation experience.

The story began when Cameron Watt and Stuart McPherson, two Canadian friends came to Los Cabos for a short getaway and eventually found themselves wanting to stay forever. They were drawn to a particular piece of land in Los Cabos; the only land in the area where palm trees and mango trees grew naturally. On 60 acres of authentic farmland, they thought of Acre Bara, designed in collaboration with the architectural firm FabriKG.

The hotel offers 12 intimate treehouses nestled 4m above the ground in a canopy of palm trees, offering a direct link with nature. Each is a private oasis in the jungle with the amenities of a beautiful hotel. Designed with walls made from tree branches, each hut includes a bed fitted with a mosquito net, a bathroom, a shower and an outdoor terrace, as well as natural ventilation. The cabins are accessible by a small private path decorated with tropical foliage. In the morning, the singing birds are your natural alarm clock. The restaurant and bar are located in the heart of the estate.

The restaurant is based on a farm-to-table cuisine that evolves with the seasons and mixes global influences. There are several dining areas that offer a unique culinary experience. The domain includes an organic garden, a farm, an animal shelter, citrus groves, a rooftop, a beach club, a swimming pool, a fireplace to gather around and many other places to explore. Yoga classes and massages are also available.

Acre Baja is both friendly and cosmopolitan, relaxed and refined – a vibrant grounded luxury experience at the foot of the Sierra de la Laguna mountains.
