Located in Costa Teguise, a small coastal town on the volcanic island of Lanzarote, Alava Suites is an idyllic hideaway that opened its doors in October 2019.

Originally the building was a house with independent rooms where everything was to rebuild. María González, the young island-born owner wanted to create a place that exudes tranquility, privacy and comfort. “Alava” is a play on words between the name of María’s mother “Álava” and the word “lava”, which referrers to the island’s origins. For the design of the place, as stylish as it is warm, nothing has been left to chance, each corner is carefully thought out.

Alava offers 6 suites, each different, but all with a minimalist, contemporary, organic style, and pure forms. The range of colors has been chosen to blend in with the environment. The furniture was designed by María and hand-crafted and custom by carpenters and cabinet makers from the island, with high-quality materials. In the bathrooms, there are natural stone basins and Rituals toiletries.

The breakfast, which changes every day, are prepared with seasonal products, including cheeses from the Canaries, fresh seasonal fruits such as pitaya, homemade granola, smoothie bowls, avocado toast, fluffy pancakes…

To start the day well, yoga classes are offered, as well as sports physiotherapy or relaxing massages on request. And in order to relax, Alava Suites offers a round swimming pool and sunbeds, surrounded by a typical garden with black volcanic sand. Alava Suites has Stay My Way technology which allows you to check-in and open the doors directly on your smartphone, for more freedom.

Alava Suites is more than just a hotel, it’s a unique, attentive, detailed and personalized experience. The silence is only disturbed by the sound of the water in the swimming pool and the wind brushing against the palms.
