The Palm House is a rental holiday house located a 10-minute walk from the beach, in the beachside town of Mooloolaba, on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, and a 1.5-hour drive from Brisbane.

Originally it was a modest and dilapidated house that was purchased in 2016 by Hannah Williams, owner and also real estate developer. The property named Vacay Co consists of two houses which can be rented individually or together. The Palm House was the existing part of the property, which has been renovated. The single-story house is clad in white-painted concrete.

The house can accommodate 6 people. It consists of an open plan living space with a bright living room, a fitted kitchen, a dining area, a utility room, three double bedrooms, and one bathroom. Interiors have a subtle Mediterranean feel with white walls, old French oak parquet herringbone floors salvaged, ceilings with exposed beams painted in white, combined with handpicked furniture from Morocco, Indonesia, and the Greek Islands. The house is dotted with bentwood chairs, linen curtains, natural fiber pendant lights, dried flowers, a casual sofa, a Berber-style rug, fabric headboards, large mirrors, brass fittings, a black surfboard, textured cushions, and some artwork, accentuating the cool and relaxed vibe of coastal living. Each room has its own decor, with neutral colors, wooden log bedside tables, linen sheets, designer mirrors, and ceiling fans. Many openings allow interiors to be bathed in light but also to blur the boundaries between inside and outside. The living space opens onto a terrace and a large shared swimming pool. The Palm House is a space you won’t want to leave.
