Pátio do Meco is a holiday house for rent located on a small hill in the historic center of Aldeia do Meco, near Sesimbra, in the Setubal peninsula, Portugal.

The ruined old family house included an interior courtyard, stables, a chicken coop and an old olive tree. Bruno Coelho, the owner who inherited the property from his grandparents, called on the Portuguese architect Fábio Ferreira Neves, to completely restore the property and transform it into a contemporary house. The renovation process whose objective was to preserve the original identity of the complex, was a long-term project, including six years of work, started in 2012 and completed in 2018. The main building has been demolished and rebuilt, respecting the original location and proportions, while new extensions have been added, allowing to delimit the parcel. The whole complex has a new modern architecture that opens only to the North and onto the main street.

With a surface area of 230 sqm that can accommodate up to 8 people, the house houses social spaces in the main building, including a living room and a fireplace, an all-white fitted kitchen and a dining room with a large wooden table. The extensions include four completely independent and intimate suites, each with its own bathroom with rain shower, and its own wooden terrace. The interiors, designed with care and attention, feature a minimalist style, with white walls, light parquet floors, and raw concrete beams, combined with a handpicked selection of designer furniture by Eames and Jean Prouvé, among others. The different buildings surround a central patio oriented towards the South, featuring a round swimming pool echoing the old wells in the region. Typical Mediterranean elements such as the roof tiles and the shading reeds, gain prominence within the patio.
