Nord House is a holiday house for rent tucked within the epicentre of Red Hill village on the Mornington Peninsula, which is about an hour’s drive south of Melbourne.

This contemporary house with its black wooden facade was designed by Poss Samperi for Kate Askew, the owner. Kate with her background in hospitality with a passion for interior design, in a holiday space she could share with guests and friends. The house blends a modern Scandinavian design profile with a country location creating a sense of being in a cabin in the woods.

The single storey house can accommodate six people, includes a large comfortable living room with a cozy wood fire for cold winters and wall-to-wall sofas, a mat black kitchen decked out with the latest European appliances, 3 generously sized bedrooms, a bathroom, and a toilet separated. There is also an outdoor area with a garden, a furnished terrace, a barbecue and an outdoor shower for the summer months. Nord House was designed to be enjoyed all year-round. In true Scandi style, the bright interiors showcase a calming blend of bright tones and dark accents, with touches of whites, grays, and blacks. The floors are covered with wooden parquet painted in brilliant white. Spaces are perfectly functional and beautifully furnished with iconic designer pieces and touches of luxury throughout, like the retro Smeg fridge, high-quality gray bedlinens by Hale Mercantile Co, a bench from the Sinnerlig collection designed by Ilse Crawford for Ikea, Country Road soft bath towels, locally made Olieve & Olie hand and body wash, ceramic tableware… The pantry is stocked with all the essentials including local organic olive oil, balsamic vinegar, T2 and Nespresso. The benefit of this house is that it gives you a sense of remoteness, yet everything is still on your doorstep.
