The Es Bec d´Aguila house and its 60 hectares of land is located at the top of a hill a few kilometres from Mahon, on the island of Menorca in Balearics.
The story of Es Bec d’Aguila (the eagle’s beak) finca started in the 19th century when a family of Menorcan merchants built their weekend getaway to enjoy the wildlife, to hunt and to entertain in the elegant house. The new owners, Benedicta (originally from the island) and her husband Benoit, called on the Parisian architect Anne-Cécile Comar from the L’Atelier du Pont agency in collaboration with the local firm Aru Arquitectura to renovate the property. Brought back to its bygone splendour, the house features elements of classical Minorcan architecture, authentic vaulted ceilings, whitewashed walls, Cuban handmade tiles, moldings, wood paneling, and new openings. The decor perfectly combines contemporary influences with traditional accents, in a soft and textured color palette, creating eclectic spaces. Es Bec d´Aguila is spread over 1 000 m2 and three levels. The house consists of 12 bedrooms, including a 6-bed dormitory room, all individually designed and distributed between the ground floor and the second floor. The size of the rooms varies from 17 to 30 m2. Each has an en-suite bathroom and stunning countryside views. The Finca offers spaces conducive to calm and relaxation but also shared spaces where to meet, in the indoor and outdoor lounges, the bar area, the library, the dining room, the projection room, the 25 meters long swimming pool, the petanque pitch, the gym, the tennis court and the yoga area. The house is rented with tailor-made services such as a chef, tennis lessons, personalized yoga sessions, massages or even ceramic workshop.
