An authentic and peaceful refuge
Casas de Arroz is a concept of 4 independent casas that can be rented together or separately, located in the heart of the village of Possanco, a few minutes from the famous town of Comporta, its blue beaches, and the port of Carrasqueira. Possanco is a very quiet area, bordered by the Sado estuary, 1:15 from Lisbon.
Casas de Arroz is the project of Charline and Antoine. Completed in 2020, the house was designed in collaboration with the architect Luis Pereira Miguel (PM-ARQ), with whom they share their love for Comporta and the same vision of the local building: a luminous architecture, integration with the natural environment, respect for local traditions and the use of raw materials. Casas de Arroz consists of 4 casas including two houses (each accommodating 4 people) and two cabins (each accommodating 2 people). The whole casas can accommodate 12 people in total. Each casas is arranged with: an open living space including a living room and a fitted kitchen, a bathroom with a rain shower, and a furnished terrace. There is also a landscaped garden, a magnificent infinity pool with panoramic views, clad in green mosaic tiles, and a roof terrace to enjoy the magnificent sunset over the Serra da Arrábida. The casas, open to the outdoors and to nature, are made of traditional masonry, and local wood. With their straw and thatched roofs, wooden pergolas, and waxed concrete floors, they pay homage to the traditional houses and fishing huts of this coastal region of Alentejo. The simple, bright, and modern interior design features natural materials, such as wicker lamps, woven baskets, and wooden and bamboo details, providing a warm atmosphere. The classics of Portuguese culture are in the spotlight, such as pottery and basketry.
Completely immersed in the landscape of pine forests, meadows, and rice fields, the Casas de Arroz is ideal for holidays with family or friends, and for enjoying the “slow life” spirit of Comporta.
