Casa do Rosário consists of three short-term rental apartments, located in Porto’s art district, one of the most central and dynamic locations in the city.

The building is nestled in the upper part of Rua do Rosário, from which it takes its name. The typical Porto building from the 19th century, was originally a whole house that has become a collection of houses over time. The 3-storey building was renovated, transformed, and divided into 5 apartments in 2016 by Margarida Leitão and Luís Sobral, the duo from the collective depA architects, also the owner of the building. The project aimed to preserve the existing, and reuse most of the parts found on site. The main facade on the street side has been restored and reconstructed with original yellow tiles. The newly constructed interior facade is clad in corrugated steel, contrasting with the lower floors of the townhouse. One of the apartments houses a family who has lived in the building for 63 years. The top floor apartment is lived in by the architect couple. There are therefore three apartments available for rent, served by a beautiful central wooden staircase. The first is located on the 1st floor, facing Rosário Street. It includes a living room, a kitchenette, an alcove with a double bed, and a bathroom with a shower. The second, also located on the 1st floor, overlooks the interior courtyard. It includes a living room, a kitchen, a winter garden, an alcove with a double bed, a shower, and a separate toilet. The third is located on the 2nd floor, facing Rosário Street. It includes a living room, a kitchen, a mezzanine with a double bed accessible by a ladder, and a bathroom with a shower. The apartments feature high ceilings with exposed beams, shuttered windows, arched door frames, plaster walls, cedar floors, combined with bespoke furniture designed specifically for the house by the collective. Part of the floors is covered with yellow tiles with geometric patterns reminiscent of the facade.
