Alpha House is a holiday house for rent located amongst palms and rice fields in a quiet part of Ubud, on the island of Bali in Indonesia.

Alpha House was designed in 2020 by Alexis Dornier, a German architect who now lives and works in Bali. The architect has, in fact, thought of the Balinese town of Ubud as the perfect place for this house. The house displays a breathtaking sculptural wavy roof echoing the rolling mountainscape of Bali in the background.

With a surface area of 280 sqm, spread over two levels, the house can accommodate up to 8 people. The house consists of an open-plan space on the main floor with a relaxing living room, a media lounge, a dining area with a large dining table and a double-height ceiling, a fully equipped kitchen, a utility room, and a garage. Two stairs lead to the 4 bedrooms upstairs, each with huge windows to enjoy the scenery, a balcony with wonderful views, and a private bathroom. Outside, there is a lush garden, a terrace, and a natural stone infinity pool for cooling down during the tropical heat. The pool runs parallel to the building direction and reflects its wavy character in the water plane. The East-West orientation of the house provides self-shading and shields off neighbours. Regarding construction, Kerobokan stone, a traditional local hard sandstone found in the vicinity of the site, was used as the main material of the house, while warm wood was chosen for the interior cladding of the roof. Modern interiors are beautifully decorated with Balinese art, carefully selected teak furniture, floor-to-ceiling mirrors in the bedrooms, Sensatia Botanicals bath products, and many locally produced accessories. To make the stay more pleasant, there is a concierge which can help with any requests, and organize various activities such as: airport pick-up, grocery service, private chef, hiking tours… There is free access to the gym in the Wellness Club located nearby.
