Strandhotel Zoomers: Hotel in Castricum

The sound of the waves and the salty sea air

The Strandhotel Zoomers hotel, which opened its doors in early 2020, is nestled against the sand dunes of Castricum beach in northern Holland.

The owner of the beach club Zoomers had the opportunity to open a hotel facing the beach and decided to collaborate with the Dutch architectural firm Breddels Architecten, the design studio The Other Season for the interiors, and the Dutch design brand HK Living for supplying the furniture. The facade is clad with wood panels in different stains in order to blend in with the environment. The hotel interiors reveal a colorful palette of warm and natural materials, with shades of linen, bamboo, and sand beige.

The Strandhotel Zoomers accommodates 12 rooms with balconies overlooking the dunes, and the soothing waves of the ocean. There is also a large apartment-style room for families. The decoration is simple and uncluttered, with beautiful shades of colors that make you feel at ease. Each room is timeless and warm, with white walls, exposed concrete ceilings, wooden floors and doors, and bamboo window blinds. Furniture and accessories come exclusively from HK Living; wickerwork cabinets, bamboo armchairs, patterned cushions, beige linen plaids, woven carpets, oversized lamps with linear faces, paintings, amber-colored vases, shell-shaped ornaments. Each room has an open bathroom with a spacious shower.

There is no restaurant on site. Breakfast is served in the Beach Pavilion Zoomers right next door. The hotel has a lounge area on the first floor and a store where you can buy the various items found in the rooms.
