Santa Clara 1728 Lisbonne

Santa Clara 1728: Hotel in Lisbon

Overlooking the Pantheon and the Tagus, Santa Clara 1728 is an intimate hotel with ultra contemporary design.

Book Santa Clara 1728

Modern and pure design

Perched on the top of one of Lisbon’s seven hills, in the heart of city’s old cultural district, the Santa Clara 1728 is a must see hotel in the Portuguese capital.

Considered a family home, Santa Clara 1728 belongs to the Silent Living group run by hotelier João Rodrigues, who occupies the property’s two top floors. The hotel is an old mansion built in 1728, which was renovated by the Portuguese architect Manuel Aires Mateus based in Lisbon.

This hotel, which opened in 2017, is a tribute to the building’s historical charm. Santa Clara 1728 displays a contemporary and minimalist design; without sacrificing either beauty or comfort. A worn limestone staircase leads to each room where you’ll find a relaxing atmosphere bathed in light.

The hotel offers 6 suites, divided into two types: the Santa Clara Crossing Suite of about 70 sqm and the Tejo Suite of about 50 sqm. The suites are simple and luxurious, with soft, neutral tones, pine floors, blond wood, designer armchairs, beds designed by Antonio Citterio for B&B Italia, Alma Natura mattresses, and impeccable Portuguese white linen sheets. Here you won’t find telephones or televisions. All the elements are harmoniously brought together. The bathrooms have freestanding bathtubs and sinks made from local pink limestone, as well as oversized rain showers. Each room has a view of the Tagus River.

On the first floor there is a common dining room where meals are served, including morning breakfast. There is also a living room with a Living Divani sofa and a Davide Groppi light fixture. On the furnished patio, you will be able to indulge in quiet moments of relaxation.

Far from the city’s hustle and bustle, Santa Clara 1728 is a true urban retreat.
