In the historical Antwerp city center, the timeless and modern Riga hotel opened its doors in a former suitcase store.

The hotel, which opened in 2018, inherited its name from its former owner Marcel Riga, who since 1938 had been selling travel accessories for people leaving to visit Africa.

Olivier Reyniers, the ambitious young entrepreneur behind the Riga hotel, has tried to preserve its authentic heritage. On the outside, the old store facade has been preserved with the slogan “Everything for travel – Suitcases for Africa”. Inside, the old advertising shutter was placed behind the reception counter. As befits an old building, the Riga hotel features stylish elements like: black and white tiles, high ceilings, smoked oak floors, and beautiful windows.

The hotel offers 12 fresh and luxurious rooms, beautifully decorated with ochre curtains, designer lights, DAB Revo clock radios and chrome accessories. You will find true attention to detail and uniqueness at every corner. Expect very comfortable beds, soft pillows, and white embroidered Verilin sheets. The duplex suite on two levels measures approximately 50 sqm and has a beautiful sitting area. The spacious bathrooms are tiled in white marble, have a rain shower or bathtub, wonderfully soft towels, and Atelier Rebul toiletries.

On the first floor you will find the “Bar Riga” where guests and clients can have breakfast, lunch, dinner or a casual drink. The menu, including only high-quality products, has the same cosmopolitan vibe as the hotel. Here, the luxury can be observed in the long red velvet benches, small designer tables, and black marble countertops.

The Riga hotel is like a home where the “vacations” theme is always the center of attention.
