Perianth

Perianth: Hotel in Athens

In Athens, the Perianth is an impressively designed hotel with character that celebrates contemporary Greek culture.

Book Perianth

An urban and modern hideaway

Located in Agia Eirini, a trendy square in the lively Monastiraki district, and off the beaten track, the Perianth opened its doors in November 2018.

The art deco-style building was built in the 1930s to accommodate commercial spaces, offices and apartments, with little concern for its future legacy. In order to revive the vacant building, the owners, the Sgoumpopoulos family, together with the Greek firm K-studio, carried out a design-oriented hotel project. The focus was on contemporary Greek culture.

The interiors combine terrazzo floors, marble furniture, glass bricks, steel details, velvet upholstery, and custom-designed wooden furniture. Minimalist staff uniforms highlight national talent. Works of art by contemporary Greek artists are featured in the common areas.

All 38 rooms have a terrace overlooking the iconic Athenian skyline. The curved-wall rooms feature walnut bed frames, grey marble benches, velvet armchairs, adjustable mirrors and brass lighting fixtures. The bathrooms with either a shower or bathtub are monochrome with natural Apivita toiletries. The Perianth Penthouse Suite occupies the entire sixth floor and measures 116 square meters. In addition to the bedrooms, it includes a living room, dining area, bar, and rooftop terrace with a swimming pool and jacuzzi, and offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the Acropolis.

“Il Barretto”, the restaurant and bar located on the first floor, serves Italian cuisine in an industrial setting with marble floors and large windows. On the second floor, the hotel houses a Zen center, an institution that has a refined atmosphere and offers meditation, yoga, and martial arts.

The Perianth hotel is ideal for a modernist getaway in the heart of the city of Athens.
