Bohemian minimalism in Ibiza

The OKU hotel is located in the west of the island of Ibiza, in Sant Antoni de Portmany, in the bay of Cala Gracio.

Opened in 2019 under the Casa Cook brand (Thomas Cook), the hotel reopened in spring 2021 for its second season under the OKU brand.

The design of the hotel was carried out in two phases by the Ibiza-based MG&AG architectural studio. The project consisted of transforming an existing old building as well as adjacent land with new construction into a laidback luxury retreat. The design-driven resort features concrete structures and solid red cedar wood panels that provide sun protection on the facade. The hotel combines a minimalist, Mediterranean style with a bohemian chic touch. OKU Ibiza presents a selection of handcrafted pieces; chairs made from jungle bark and traditional hand-woven carpets.

The hotel has 80 rooms in the old renovated building, 49 suites of 60 sqm, and 1 suite of 150 sqm in the new building. A private villa of 180 sqm is available for rent in exclusivity. The rooms and suites are soberly decorated with earthy tones, concrete, natural materials such as linen, rattan, and oak wood. There are sofas, armchairs, and Marshall speakers. All are designed in such a way as to blur the line between indoor and outdoor with terraces, or shared swimming pools. Smooth concrete bathrooms are open plan, with black plumbing fixtures, rainfall shower or bathtubs, and Le Labo toiletries.

Breakfast is buffet-style with a huge choice.

The hotel has a bar and two restaurants. There is also a spa, a gym, yoga classes, a concept store, two swimming pools including an Olympic pool size 50×25 meters, the largest in Ibiza.
