At the end of the Catalans beach and facing the Cercle des Nageurs is where you will stumble across Les Bords de Mer in Marseille.

This hotel is a new addition to the Les Domaines de Fontenille collection. Two mythical establishments from Marseille’s past that have been left untouched for several years; the former Art Deco style hotel Richelieu which was built in the 1930s and the former Eden Roc restaurant, have been bridged together and have undergone a complete renovation under the direction of the Marseille architect Yvann Pluskwa.

The hotel was reinvented to be stylish, elegant, and luxuriously simple and opened at the beginning of 2019. The historical façade has been preserved and raised by one floor.

The hotel offers 19 distinctive rooms facing the Mediterranean Sea, with large windows that let the light pour in. The decoration is minimalist, with a palette of pastel grey, green and blue colors, stoneware floors, accented by blond oak beds and cabinetry, Scandinavian furniture, iconic lamps, and old Kodak prints that hang above every bed. Some rooms even have balconies with wooden duckboard terraces, outdoor showers, and sun loungers. The bathrooms are finished in grey veined white marble with seaside views.

The restaurant with its immense bay windows offers refined and modern cuisine with an emphasis on delicious seafood. The bar and tables outside on the terrace provide a panoramic view of the sea.

In the basement, the hotel offers a 300 square meter REN Skincare Spa, nestled in the rock, with a sauna, hammam, a heated indoor swimming pool, wellness cabins, a fitness room and a secret passageway leading to the Mediterranean Sea. There is also a rooftop with a 10 m long heated outdoor swimming pool.
