Opened in 2016, Leman Locke is housed in a newly constructed glassy building just a short stride from bustling Brick Lane in the Aldgate district, East London.

The property belonging to the Locke Living group is an aparthotel concept that combines the advantages and flexibility of an apartment with the facilities and services of a hotel. The concept is aimed at modern travelers, who no longer want just a comfortable night’s stay, want an experience and to feel a part of a community. Leman Locke was designed by New York-based architectural firm Grzywinski + Pons.

The hotel offers 168 suites including studios and one-bedroom apartments, nestled in the twenty-two upper floors. Interiors feature a minimalist style with a palette of muted and pastel colors, wood floors, blue and white walls -with some areas left in raw concrete-, furniture and lighting custom-made by the architects. Floor-to-ceiling windows give onto impressive views of the city. Each room has a bed with a wooden structure, a lounge area with a comfortable dusty pink L-shaped sofa, side tables topped in marble or made from wood, a walk-in closet with shelves, a kitchenette with a dining table, and a yoga mat. The en-suite bathroom has a super-strong rainfall shower with Kinsey Apothecary toiletries. Lighting includes cantilevered floor lamps made from contrasting wood and metal elements, and minimal bedside wall lights. The atmosphere is unique and harmonious.

The hallways have been transformed into cozy nooks and modern meeting spaces. The hotel’s main floor houses a café which uses the same decorative codes for the rooms; pastel tones, two-tone walls, exposed concrete, contemporary materials, and potted plants. A metal spiral staircase leads to the first floor where the resident restaurant Treves & Hyde is located.
