A tribute to the South of France

Le Sud hotel is located in Juan les Pins, a charming town on the French Riviera between Cannes and Nice, known for its sandy beaches and seaside promenade lined with restaurants and stores.

Opened in 2020, Le Sud hotel was designed by the interior designer Stéphanie Lizée. It was designed to reflect the south’s relaxed lifestyle, as a tribute to the South of France. The interiors have a uniform south of France style that is modernized with subtlety and simplicity. Throughout the hotel you’ll find natural materials, sandstone, terracotta, wood, rattan, stripes, and salvaged objects found in the surrounding area with custom-made furniture, mostly made by local craftsmen.

Le Sud hotel has 29 rooms, some of which featuring a balcony. Their orange, terracotta, Klein blue, pine green, and sunflower yellow colors are inspired by shades and colors used by Pablo Picasso. Painted lines have been placed just under the ceilings, and match the striped patterns on the beds. Earth toned vases and plates splashed with a touch of color, and fish prints are among the decorations used. Some of the objects were designed by Lizee herself, including wooden side tables with wavy edges and sandstone ceiling lights. Streaks of paint were applied by hand by artist Franck Lebraly around the curved headboards. In the bathrooms, terracotta tiles were used to line the vaulted doors leading to the showers, protected by blue striped curtains.
