The Palisociety hotel group has preserved and modernized the former Chamberlain hotel in Portland.
A community meeting place
The Grand Stark Hotel is located at the corner of Grand Avenue and Stark Street in East Portland, Oregon. Built in 1908 the Chamberlain hotel then housed a furniture maker until 2016. The building, which retains its original details, has been renovated and decorated by local designer North 45 Projects. The rooms display a palette of greens, light wood floors, natural wooden furniture, antique rugs, desks, benches and Smeg refrigerators.
