A young Slovenian has added the country’s first design hotel to the landscape by transforming the former Hotel Kimpas into an alpine and minimalist haven.

Hotel Bohinj is located in the Julian Alps, on the heights of Lake Bohinj. Opened in 2021, the hotel was transformed by the Slovenian architecture studio Ofis. The hotel features wooden architecture, graphic hallways, cozy contemporary chalet-style rooms with large windows opening onto nearby Triglav Mountain. There is a heated outdoor swimming pool and a wellness area (sauna, hammam, salt cave) in the basement of the hotel.
