In the heart of Caen’s city centre, Chez Laurence du Tilly is an upscale accommodation with a hybrid concept subtly blending together hotel services, a guest house, and the independence of a furnished apartment.

Laurence du Tilly, the place’s owner is an Art de Vivre enthusiast and designer. She has transformed and converted this 18th-century mansion into a one-of-a-kind place where the idea is to feel at home, with particular emphasis on the decoration.

The mansion houses 3 distinctively styled guest apartments, each occupying a floor and connected by a stone staircase. The first two have a kitchen, a living room with a sofa bed, a fireplace, a dining area, and a bathroom with an Italian shower. On the 1st floor, “Le classique” has Haussmann-style accents with wood panelling and herringbone flooring. On the 2nd floor, “Le contemporain” has a more modern style with indirect lighting and hardwood flooring. As for the 3rd floor, “L’atypique”, located in the attic with its exposed wooden beams, is designed as a loft to have a furnished patio and a bathtub in the bedroom. Each and every room has its own timeless, personalized decor, mixing antiques with creations by famous names in design.

The ground floor hosts a common area with a cosy living room, library, fireplace, and an honesty bar. In the basement, a vaulted cellar has been converted into an extraordinary space for private events. Several tailor-made services are available; fresh bread deliveries in the morning, full breakfast, trays to taste, Italian dishes to put in the oven, bottles from the cellar, fireplace kits, picnic baskets, massages, and yoga classes.
