Inaugurated on November 1, 2023, Boca de Agua is the result of a vision to create a place that contributes to environmental, social, and cultural regeneration. Frida Escobedo, renowned for her work at the MET in New York, designed this establishment in harmony with the surrounding nature. The elevated structures on stilts minimize the ecological footprint, allowing the jungle to retain its integrity and offering guests a full immersion in the local biodiversity.
The hotel offers 26 accommodation units, primarily “casitas” made from locally sourced wood, bathed in natural light, and decorated in soothing neutral tones. Each space is designed to blend seamlessly into the landscape, offering breathtaking views of the jungle and lagoon. Traditional local construction techniques and the use of sustainable materials reflect a commitment to ecology and support for local communities.
Boca de Agua is home to two restaurants serving cuisine inspired by regional flavors. One of them features a stargazing platform, allowing guests to savor exquisite dishes while admiring the night sky. The menus highlight local ingredients, celebrating the culinary richness of the Yucatán and offering an authentic, immersive dining experience.
