August is the second hotel project by Mouche Van Hool, who also owns the Hotel Julien in Antwerp. August occupies a former red-brick convent made up of five merged buildings, surrounded by three large gardens. Flemish architect Vincent Van Duysen has brilliantly transformed this neoclassical gem into a contemporary hotel, while preserving the history and soul of the place. This blend of past and present gives the hotel a unique atmosphere, where every corner tells a story.

August has 44 elegantly designed rooms and suites, offering optimal comfort for travelers. Each room is individually and carefully designed, combining minimalist and contemporary design with touches of classic charm, resulting in something wonderfully unique. The rooms are decorated in the characteristic style of the Belgian architect: an aesthetic that is both understated, neutral, functional, and extremely comfortable. They feature a discreet color palette with bright white walls, tones of wood and soft green, dark oak, and touches of black. The rooms are furnished with handwoven rugs, unique and contemporary furniture, designer lighting, plush duvets, and a warm room fragrance. Some rooms are located under the eaves, with exposed beams and wooden ceilings. The adjoining bathrooms are designed with hand-glazed tiles, featuring rain showers or freestanding bathtubs. The high ceilings and large windows allow natural light to flood the spaces, highlighting the original architectural details. Every detail has been custom-made in collaboration with brands such as Molteni, Flos, and Serax, among others. Each room tells a story, inviting guests to immerse themselves in an atmosphere of serenity and refinement.

August restaurant, located in the corridor surrounding the original chapel, offers refined cuisine for an unforgettable gastronomic experience. The menu highlights local, seasonal, and regional products. The intimate setting of the restaurant, with its elegantly set tables and refined décor, invites diners to savor each dish in a peaceful environment. Whether for a hearty breakfast, a light lunch, or a savory dinner, guests will find a varied menu that will delight even the most demanding palates.

August bar, set in the former chapel, is a sophisticated and welcoming space that invites relaxation and conviviality. The high vaulted ceilings painted black, the tiled floors, and the oversized windows create an impressive setting.

Outside, the gardens designed by Martin Wirtz offer a true oasis of greenery where visitors can immerse themselves.

The wellness area invites guests to warm up in the sauna and steam room. There is also an outdoor shower and a natural outdoor swimming pond. Treatments are provided with Maiwe products. This space is the perfect place to recover after a long day of exploring Antwerp.
