The Atlantic is located on the corner of Marvel St and Middleton St, a stone’s throw from the main beach, in Byron Bay, a coastal town in New South Wales.

Former Sydneysiders, the owners Kim Amos and Steve Eakin took over a property with a collection of bayside cottages, which they renovated and embellished over five years to create a lifestyle hotel. Opened in 2012, the Atlantic offers a decor inspired by the Caribbean and surf culture. Surrounded by tropical gardens and palm trees, the cottages with facades clad in white wood are connected through a wooden pathway.

The property consist of 4 cottages and an American Airstream combi. Each cottage has common areas; a living room with a library, an open kitchen, a barbecue, and a terrace. All are decorated with timeless attention to detail.

Atlantic Byron Bay rooms vary depending on the type of stay desired. The Albatross rooms, the more spacious, inspired by travels through Arizona and Mexico, feature a separate entrance and outdoor shower. The Tropical and The Classic rooms have a private sunny veranda. The West Elm Bungalow, decorated in collaboration with designer Jason Grant, features a palette of navy blues and whites, paired with leather and wood accents. The Coconut rooms are holiday-style, located in the smaller cottage of the Atlantic. The Cabana, surf shack style rooms are casual and cozy, not very big just enough, grab a board and go. The Airstream is ideal for glamping with all the facilities of a hotel. All bedrooms have an en suite bathroom with Grown Alchemist products.

The hotel has many areas to relax; a swimming pool, swings, a central fire pit… Beach towels, bikes and surfboards and surf wax are all provided.
